The wheels and axles for the inspection trollies should be as light as possible. The nature of the line will 206 necessitate the use of extra light inspection trollies so that they can be easily cut when a train is in sight. The light Indian State Railway Push trolley is I think the best. American pump trollies are too heavy.

11.

I am also sending an indent for Engine Watering Plant. The indent includes a steel staging and three tanks complete with three inches inlet and ball and stop valve and eight inches outlet and stop valve. This staging and tanks are for the Kowloon Shops and Running Shed.

The design sent should be checked before ordering. Piping is to be sent out to reach from the tank to the ground we shown with a souted band at the bottom.

12.

The water crane is to be similar to that usually supplied to Indian State Ruilways. I propose to fix it in the centre between the two running sheds roads which are 20 feet centre to centre. The revolving arm should there- fore be long enough to water the engines you are sending out as well as the contractors tank engines already sent which will be used for shunting purposes. The length of piping between the water crane and the outlet from the water tank can be arranged for lucally when the exact positions are known.

13. I do not think any watering arrangements will be required as yet at Lofu. A temporary tank will he required there for construction purposes and this will be sufficient until there are signs of such development as would warrant more expensive arrangements.

14. I am also sending home an indent by this mail for more Rolling Stock. Item 1 is for another loco similar to the one already ordered. Two such locos should be quite sufficient for all requirements till the traffic developes. 15. The indent also includes some four wheeled wagons and two brake vans to make up a total of fifty goods shock.
